Teddies from book 'The Lonely Bear'

These are two teddies I made for my last project in my Art course, these teddies represent the two main characters of the book, Brown Bear and Rabbit.

I used a basic template for these teddies but I mainly made them from how I assumed they were made as I've done more sewing in my previous project.

Both were hand sewn and took me about a week to make as well as making a bunting for my final show.

Photo for book

One of many pictures I took for the book for my final project, I would want to paint the animal characters on top of the photos to make the book simple but not to real so I may edit the photos as well to give them a brighter and less realistic feel.

Illustrated animals

These are some illustrations I drew whilst in Bristol Museum, I went to the museum to look at the wildlife section to take photos and collect some observational drawings because for my final project for my Art and Design course I want to write and illustrate a children's book along with creating the characters into teddies.

I chose these animals (Fox, Squirrel, Hummingbird and Deer) because they are the woodland type creatures I want to include in my book and they are recognised by children.

Felt Food Project

For this project I made felt ingredients for four recipes (on the cards) which were Apple and Blueberry Pie, Lemon Cheesecake, Carrot Cake and Strawberry Cupcakes.

The ingredients I made were; Flour, Sugar, Milk, Butter, Box of four Eggs, Carrots, Apples, Lemon, Orange, Strawberries and Blueberries. All hand-stitched and from my own technique.

This was six week project and I spent three of those weeks making my final outcome, along with from week one creating a study of research/ideas and my progress in a sketchbook.

Cardboard Human Heart

For this cardboard object I was given a cardboard box and I had to think of a way to transform it into a human form piece, so I cut the box into small pieces and hot glued them all together.
I then drew my heart design and carved it out and sanded it to shape, then carving into the more difficult areas.

Urban Fashion Project

This piece is a oversized necklace made from safety pins, ripped fabric and wool to make the tassels.
I made the flower type scrunched material effect by getting a square of fabric and piercing the safety pin through over till the pin was filled with fabric. I repeated this over to fill the whole back panel of fabric, and I also made the tassels by hand.

Pointillism A2 Apple

For this piece I chose to use a pointillism technique and do it in oil pastels as it creates a better effect.
This piece is on an A2 piece of thick paper and the whole page is covered with the oil pastel dots. I also used blue and a little bit of orange to make contrasting colours stand out also with the contrasting red and green.
